Joey’s Book Club
Books On Krav Maga, Self Defense, Violence:
This one is an amazing look into the phycology of training for real life situations and what the reality is. They do not promote Krav Maga directly but it’s a great book that will give you insight to how, why, and what happens in fighting. A must read for anyone taking Self Defense seriously.
Same as above but more detailed on specifics on what to do and how to understand violent encounters. Must read for all MA instructors.
This book is a brick. It’s huge! But it’s also one of the most insightful books on violence and what happens in your mind before, during, and after a real life situation. If you have the time and willingness to jump into this book you will get a lot out of it!
The movie was crazy fun to watch but only had a small fraction of what went on. I read this book then got to hear Marcus actually tell the story in person. Then I got to hang out and chat with him for a while. This book is a must read. It shaped my life and how I view war and combat.
Books On life, philosophy, and how to live happier:
This book doesn’t have self defense principles but one that I have found to be a major life changing approach to how to deal with situations. It’s probably one of my absolute favorite books and the one I give out as a gift the most. It doesn’t directly deal with fighting or self defense but the principles in the book will help you better overcome bad situations.
MUCH better then the movie. Even though it’s hard to say that with Mr. Pit and Norton. But whats cool about the book is that you can picture them as the characters 😉 But this book is a short and awesome book to read. Check it out!
This book was a game changer for me. If you are a your own boss or work for someone else this is a book that can help you maximize your output per hour so you have more money and time to live a fun life. Tim is a great thinker and brings a lot of different inside to how to live a fuller life. The title is a little misleading.. He isn’t proposing you only work for 4 hours a week. It’s about really getting max output in less time. You should probably read this book.
Books on Health:
Do I need a lot of explanation? haha.. this book is the size of a bible and has loads on info on how to lose weight and perform better then top athletes. A GREAT read. Even though it’s huge it’s a pick-your-own adventure layout. So you only read the chapters to what you want to accomplish.
